World Data Privacy Day 2009

On January 28, 2009 the United States, Canada and 27 European countries celebrate World Data Privacy Day. One of the goals of Data Privacy Day is to promote privacy awareness and education among adults and teens. This is increasingly important in the age of social networks, where teens are sharing personal details about their lives on Facebook and the like.

Here is some followup on Microsoft research that shows that consumers are concerned about online privacy, but are not sufficiently educated to know the risks and even the right questions to ask.
