Obama Releases Bush Administration Secret Documents On Wiretapping, Email Snooping and Censorship
It’s not a huge surprise that the Bush administration engaged in wiretapping, email snooping and other intelligence work following the 9/11 terrorist tragedy. The Obama administration has released documents that detail the Bush policies, and how they came to believe that they were legally entitled to virtually limitless surveillance.
Included is also text describing the option for the US Government to censor the media. “First Amendment speech and press rights may also be subordinated to the overriding need to wage war successfully.”
